SEND Lighthouse Team
Launched in 2024, the SEND Lighthouse Team is a collaborative group comprising parents of Banister Primary students and key members of our SEND Team, including Miss Vincent, Mrs Price, and Mr Anthony.
This team meets monthly at the school to focus on topics related to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our discussions aim to enhance school-wide effectiveness in meeting learners' needs and include exploring:
- Current in-school support arrangements.
- Processes for referrals to external services.
- School systems and procedures.
Last year, we successfully developed and implemented our own Neurodiversity Profiling Tool (NPT). This tool, inspired by a resource from the Neurodiversity Multi-disciplinary Team (NMDT) in Southampton, is now used across the school to support parents, carers, and children navigating the CAMHS referral pathway.
Join Us: We welcome all parents to our regular meetings. This is a safe space to share experiences, celebrate successes, and discuss challenges with other parents who have lived experience.
· The team also compiles a valuable list of SEND resources for the wider school community. This list can be downloaded below.
